The town was founded in the 10th century. In the 13th century it cames to Teuton´s knights. In the center of town there stays interesting Gothic castle. On the town square there occur many Gothic, Renaissance, Baroque and Empire town houses with arcade. The grave of Bohuslav Hasištejnský from Lobkovice occurs in the main Gothic church designed by J. Schremmel.
